As part of an overall strategic re-organisation program designed to achieve significant growth targets, Azelis announces the appointment of Joan Traynor as Managing Director of all Azelis UK operations, comprising Chance & Hunt (including Brown & Gillmer), S. Black UK and Broste UK.

Joan’s appointment allows Neil Berry (previously MD of S. Black Ltd) to devote all of his time to his role as International Business Director (IBD) for Azelis Personal Care.

Within Azelis Joan has been MD of Chance and Hunt since 2005. She joined Azelis when it was acquired by them in 2002 and prior to that had been in various commercial and operational management roles within Chance & Hunt and ICI.  Joan will lead the combined UK organization effective October 1st and focus on achieving operational excellence across all businesses. 

Neil has been covering the joint roles of MD S. Black Ltd and IBD Azelis Personal Care since S. Black joined the Azelis Group in October 2007.  Growth opportunities within the personal care sector across Europe demand the 100% focus that this change facilitates. 

Neil adds “ By maximizing synergies and leveraging our strengths it is my aim to enhance our position as the premier distributor of innovative ingredients for Personal Care. Joan will further augment the strong team at S. Black and provide the leadership to enable the local company to thrive.” 

Joan looks forward to welcoming our partners in Hertford and adding an extra dimension to discussions across all S. Black Life Science business units.

S. Black Business Unit Managers remain as Andrew Raybould for Personal Care, Peter Hardy for Food and Nutrition, Stephen Ayles for Fragrance Ingredients and Trevor Bridger for Healthcare.
